Fune no Kagakukan, the ship-shaped building in Odaiba, Tokyo

When you move to the artificial island of Odaiba across the Rainbow Bridge, on the right, beyond the palace of the Fuji TV, you will notice a big white ship.

From that distance, the only detail that could possibly indicate that in fact it is a building, is the unusual height of the control tower, that is too tall to be a real ship, with a strangely color red on top.

In fact this construction is called Fune no Kagakukan, and it is the Museum of Maritime Science of Tokyo.

The unusual tower is actually a two-story observatory, one of the best places to admire the view of Odaiba.

The design of the building is inspired by the famous luxury liner Queen Elizabeth 2, making it yet another replica of famous buildings in the island.

In fact, besides this, on the island you can see the Rainbow Bridge, a copyof the famous Brooklyn Bridge, and the reduced size replica of the Statue of Liberty.

A curiosity: in Odaiba, on the bridge that takes you to the Aqua City shopping center, you will see at once (and I believe it is no coincidence) the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Eiffel Tower.
